EQUALIZING & RELIEF VALVES
PRESSURE EQUALIZING AND RELIEF VALVES
The VCL Equalizing and Relief Valve is a valve type used at the top of the blast furnace (BF). Several of these valves are connected to the material lock hoppers of the BF charging system. The equalizing and relief valves are used to equalize the filled hoppers to furnace top pressure before charging and – on the other hand – to relieve the hoppers to ambient pressure before refilling. The large maintenance door of the VCL ERV allows good accessibility for maintenance work and easy replacement of wear parts. The valve disc is completely swiveled out of the flow in the open position in order to minimize seal wear.
